Ground-Penetrating Radar for Archaeological Exploration

Abstract:

Ground-penetrating radar can be used to "see" into the ground to discover and map buried archaeological sites. Images of what lies below the surface can be visualized in three-dimensions prior to excavation, or instead of excavation. Examples will be shown from sites in Colorado and from around the world, including Petra, Jordan, Moche sites in Peru and Central America.
